The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) leadership has instructed the administration of Kaduna State University (KASU) to reject any exams given at the institution till the strike is put on hold.
The union claimed that the most recent examination held by KASU was unlawful and that it must be redone in accordance with the law in a statement signed by its zonal coordinator, Comrade Abdulkadir Muhammad, of the ASUU-Kano Zone.
ASUU stated that if the administration of the university does not revoke the examination, the union would be forced to petition the organization before the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICC) and the National University Commission (NUC) ( ICPC).
They added that lecturers who taught the courses were not involved in the creation of examination questions, supervision, or scoring, which they described as a clear violation of the established rules and regulations governing the conduct of examinations. The union further accused KASU of holding exams when course outlines and lecture hours for the semester had not yet been completed.
Remember that although the KASU branch of ASUU insisted that the strike was still going on, the school had reopened for the resumption of academic activities that had begun with the administration of the second-semester examinations.
